The highest quality shingles in the world.

Western Red Cedar is the best raw material for roofing, it is light weight, provides excellent heat and sound insulation, excellent reflectivity,  and is resistant to rot and decay.

It is also easy to install, is very durable and provides an attractive finish.

Plus, wood is the only environmentally sound choice for roofing.

It is the only product which is sustainably harvested and renewable.

If you are shopping for cedar roofing shingles then you’re interested in having the best quality, a durable and attractive finish.  Why, then, would you accept inferior products?

At Vancouver Island Shingle we make the highest quality shingles worldwide.

We are very selective and keep our staff small, so we can keep a close watch on quality.

We have an outstanding reputation for having the highest quality products.

Our targeted product is 100% two pack, a maximum of two shingles per row in a 20” wide frame.  No other mills can produce shingles with this large size.

It is not available anywhere else in the world.  We have even done 100% one pack, where every shingle is 18” wide, but this is only done for custom orders.

On this site you will find a link to contact me if you wish to purchase either our standard shingles, or if you would like to place an order for custom cut products.

In the media center you will find photographs of logging and block cutting on the British Columbia Coast, and a 25 minute video showing the entire shingle manufacturing process.

In the information center there is an evaluation of the different materials used for roofing, links to shake and shingle installation manuals, history and general information about shakes and shingles, and about our company.
